Challenges of Artificial Intelligence projects and how to best manage to positive outcomes were featured at the fourth annual Project Management World Mini-Conference.  

The virtual event was open to the public and was designed for anyone with an interest in how AI technologies are shaping the future and the project management skills needed to to be part of this innovative work. It was interactive and conversational and featured speakers from four different industries. It concluded with a panel discussion on best practices and lessons learned for Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning project/program management. Topics included:

  • Overview of Artificial Technologies and how they might be applied
  • How AI is used today – benefits and outcomes for businesses to consider
  • Role of project managers in the journey to success
  • Challenges to be aware of in AI projects
  • Next steps – how to prepare and adapt for AI project/program management

Challenges of Artificial Intelligence projects and how to best manage to positive outcomes will be featured at the fifth annual Project Management World Mini-Conference to be held Saturday, March 27 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm PDT.  

The virtual event is open to the public and is designed for anyone with an interest in how AI technologies are shaping the future and the project management skills needed to to be part of this innovative work. It will be interactive and conversational and features speakers from four different industries.  It will conclude with a panel discussion on best practices and lessons learned for AI/ML project/program management. Topics to include:

  • Overview of Artificial Technologies and how they might be applied
  • How AI is used today – benefits and outcomes for businesses to consider
  • Role of project managers in the journey to success
  • Challenges to be aware of in AI projects
  • Next steps – how to prepare and adapt for AI project/program management

Attendees will receive white papers on the topic (?) and be provided with a chance to win a door prize – books by the presenters (?)  Participants do not need to have a background in these technologies or in project/ program management to learn from these experts.  The fee for the event is $5 before February 28 and then $10.  Registration is required.

Speakers

Ravi is an R&D Project Manager at Hologic, Inc. in the medical device industry for Breast and Skeletal Health. This innovative medical technology company seeks to enable healthier lives everywhere, every day. He is passionate about working alongside healthcare technology products to better improve quality of life. Ravi loves developing strategies in product marketing and analyzing the most efficient and effective way possible. He has a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Technology and Management with a Minor in Computer Science and Business from San Jose State University.

Martin Stanley, CISSP, is the Branch Chief for Strategic Technology at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Previously, Martin led the Cybersecurity Assurance Program at CISA and the Enterprise Cybersecurity Program at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Prior to his federal service Martin held executive leadership positions at Vonage and UUNET Technologies. Martin is co-author of Digital Health: Understanding the Benefit-Risk Patient-Provider Framework, published by Oxford University Press (March, 2021).

Patrick heads the AI Engineering and AI Sciences team at Samsung SDS America. He is a visionary for the future of AI at Samsung and believes AI must serve humanity beyond mere automation of routine tasks. He is responsible for Brightics AI Accelerator, a distributed machine learning (ML) training and automated ML product, and X.Insights, a data center intelligence platform. Prior to Samsung, he spent 15 years as CEO at Algorithmica Technologies, a machine learning software company for chemicals and oil and gas industries. He has a machine learning PhD in mathematics and Masters in theoretical physics from University College London.

Ajita is the Vice President of Artificial Intelligence and a Founding Engineer at Koopid. She leads the company’s efforts to bring the latest, relevant developments in natural language processing and deep learning to conversational AI and the backend data architecture to support real-time data analytics. She holds 30+ patents, has published extensively in leading peer-reviewed conferences such as AAAI, WWW, CHI, CSCW, and ICWSM. Ajita is also an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University and holds a PhD in computer science from the University of Texas at Austin.
