PMW011 University Intern Project: Website Template and Tool Development

A major University liked our submission “Development, Customization, and Maintenance of a Website Template” and contacted us about assigning two groups of  interns to this project.

Scope

There are approximately 20 million companies in the U.S. that lack IT and Customer Support personnel. Customers often contact them by phone, email, and in-person visits. These questions often distract clerks and owners from other tasks.

The interns are asked to develop a simple website that can be reached from the client’s sales website. That simple support site would provide Q&A for the often-repeated support needs of the client’s customers such as physical location, opening hours, and availability of specific services or goods.

The project requires development of an on-line tool that will allow clients to easily enter frequently-asked questions from their customers. The questions and answers would be provided on a website that would link to the client’s sales website.

Deliverables

1. A website template that is saved as an instance for each client, filled with the client’s information, and saved as a website that is reached from the client’s sales site.

2. A tool for clients to enter their information: logo, name, location, phone numbers, email addresses, and questions and answers.

Summary

We are very excited the the students will develop this template and tool. We are confident that it will prove to be a time saver for employees as well as customers. In addition, it should
decrease time spent on the phone and hunting for information to aid the customers.
